Our classical riding retreats are designed for riders who wish to deepen their understanding of the horse, the aids, and themselves. Through ridden lessons, in-hand work, and reflective practice, guests are invited into a quieter, more considered way of learning — one rooted in harmony, patience, and true partnership.
My friend and I had a fabulous few days with Nuno and Teresa, we saw some beautiful horses, and had several great lessons with Nuno. Nuno is incredibly knowledgeable, is a beautiful rider and a very kind, patient instructor. The accommodation that we stayed in was gorgeous, and had everything that we needed. Teresa provided fabulous lunches for us, and these provided an opportunity to sit down and to further discuss horses, riding and to ask Nuno questions. All in all, it was a wonderful experience, and one that I would highly recommend.

As a relatively new International Traveller, I found the HC farm and family FAR exceeded every expectation! It was so much more than just a “resort”. The horses clearly love Bernardo and their lifestyle here in the Alentejo hills. To be welcomed by the family and to share a meal in this beautiful setting was lovely. Our riding will most definitely be affected in a positive way! Portugal and HC have left an indelible mark on our HEARTS! We hope to return soon.
